Berevyanko is one of 35 women who took part in a University of Toronto study that spent three years monitoring the impact of unemployment and underemployment on the health of recent-immigrants
The study found that many of the women were unaware of the cost of living in Toronto before they arrived, and were surprised to learn that despite having highly valued skills that had gained them landed immigrant status, they would still require years of further education before being able to find employment comparable to what they left behind.
The site features information in nine languages including English, Chinese, Farsi, Gujarat, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian.
