I along with my wife have been there. We met people in our respective fields who are relatively new to canada. We were not really enthused by the presentations but many Newcomers found motivating.
The speaker Mike Lipkin is a professional motivational speaker, he was good at what he was doing but was far away from the reality. He sold himself more than selling Canada to New Immigrants.
Our main intention was to understand what exactly is networking but for our disappointment that was not touched enough. Fortunately we both are working in our chosen fields and want to experiment with networking in furthering our careers.
We have learnt few things which we would have not pickedup had we not been there. Definitely good leaning expereince.
TRIEC(Toronto Regional Immigrant Employment Council) and their sponsors have spent lot of money and effort in organising this workshop.
We strongly recommend fellow desis utilise this kind of opportunities.
regards
