I recently stayed at 65 Forest manor road for a week and have been inside 85 Forest manor road. They are very nice clean places. You will find some cockroaches etc at 20 Forest Manor road but you can find rooms there cheaper. If you are good at fighting bugs, move to 20 Forest manor road and embark on treating bugs. Can't be hard.

AT... sorry boss, I am not near Finch or Albion, am in kipling heights. secondly, I don't cook or keep PG, my accommodation is short term for new comers to land, find job and move closer to ur work place. I gv cooking facilities but to only clean and responsible people.

I just got info about wonderful studio/bachelor's apartment for $675 pm bathrust and Eglington West. Everything is done online. Btw...Thy do credit check. 2 people can share and it's all inclusive.

Too much for the desi student. Hydro is probably NOT included in the above , so atleast $ 700/month for this apartment.
Also the desi will need a $ 140/month TTC pass to get from there to get to York University..SENECA campus.
Desi is probably looking for a $ 400 to $ 500 per month room in some desi's house or basement..with shared Kitchen & Bathroom & Laundry...PG type accomodation.
Desi also probably wants to throw in another $ 100 to $ 150 per month ..say 5 dollars per day..for some vegeterian GUJJU food ..home cooked food.
Desis BASIC Expense will be :
1. Rent : $ 400 to $ 500 pm for a room.
2. Transport : $ 140 pm for TTC pass , both Bus & Train included i.e Metro/Subway.
3. Food : $ 150 pm . Basic groceries only & Home cooked food only, NO eating out.
4. Cell Phone : $ 30 to $ 50 pm depending on plan & provider. GO for WIND MOBILE its cheaper.
5. Cable : Will be FREE with desi family. FREE basic channels also available with TV antennae aka Rabbit ears
6. Internet : Will be FREE with the desi family on your laptop with Wi-Fi . Otherwise $ 50 pm for unlimiteld high speed internet with DISTRIBUTEL , TEKSAVVY etc.
7. Movies : $ 8 - $ 13 per movie depending on what day he watches it. Basic movie NOT 3D , IMAX etc.
Tuesday will be $ 8 .
8. Buffet : Chinese or Indian buffet on weekdays from $ 10 plus tax & tips. Weekend will be more expensive & Dinner will be more expensive. Buffet is economical otherwise each dish will be $ 10, if its a la carte
Desis don't go to White people restaurant , they CAN'T afford it. Since he is vegeterian he won't even go to Chinese buffet.
9. Winter Clothes : Good Shoes can be as cheap as $ 30 . Winter Jacket can be as cheap as $ 50 or less. Gloves & Toque/hat can be as cheap as $ 10 . These are all BRAND new stuff bought in places like Wal Mart etc when on sale & discount.
If he wants to buy them used & cheaper he can always go to Salvation Army Thrift stores , Good Will stores etc.
10. Hair Cut : $ 8 - $ 10 if he goes to a DESI who cuts in his house . White people will be more expensive. But DESI will buy a machine for $ 10 - $ 20 & will cut his own hair to save money. He will make his head almost bald or really short with the machine.
11. Text Books & School supplies etc will be very expensive . Expect to pay atleast $ 100 per book per course if NOT more. Used books are NOT that cheap either & hard to find ..don't expect much discount on them. Printers are very cheap , but Ink cartridges are expensive..so printing will cost lot of money.
Some desi will buy one book & 3-4 others will photocopy it and share the cost with him . Photocopying and printing is NOT that cheap either , expect 10 cents per page
Desi will usually illegally download the book in PDF format on his Ipad or other tablet from ILLEGAL torrent sites like pirate bay , kick ass torrents etc. They will also download HINDI movies from there.
1.TK will give you more information about Food Banks & Soup Kitchens.
2.TK will give you more information about FREE food in Sikh Temple aka Gurudwaara . Its called LANGAAR. He will also give you TIPS on getting used stuff & selling used stuff on KIJIJi , Craigslist , Ebay etc.
Salvation Army Thrift stores & Good Will stores are also good for buying used stuff for cheaper price. Expect some bed bugs, stains , smell when you buy them.
3.BTW , desis junk food over here will be SAMOSAS . You get 3 for $ 1.00 ..they will also throw in some GREEN chutney and Brown tamarind chutney for you. To put that in perspective White people will go to McDonalds for a BIG MAC which is $4.99 + Tax , fries & Coke NOT included ..it will be almost $ 8 + tax with fries & Coke.
4.Desis only go to Tim Hortons for coffee . Small coffee will be $ 1.33 + Tax. That's ALL the desi will take. You will KNOW what Tim Horton's is after coming here. Some will call it Tim's , Timmy's etc too.
If desi really wants to spend . he will buy a box of 10 Tim Bits ( you will know what they are, after coming here ) for $ 1.99 + Tax & share it among 3-4 people !!!..so expect ONLY 2-3 Tim Bits per person.
Desi won't go to Starbucks as cheapest coffee will be $ 5 if you are lucky, so White people go there to show off. Its a status symbol over here to be seen with a Starbucks cup in your hand . If you can find an empty Starbucks cup, keep it ..pour home made coffee or tea into it or even Tim's coffee into it & pretend you are drinking Starbucks coffee. Your social status will increase bcoz of that.
5. If you can pick up a fake Canadian accent & NOT speak with a heavy GUJJU accent, that will be good. Also pick up a fake Canadian name or short form of your Indian name, so people can pronounce your name.
So Ankit will be Andy . Pawinder will be Paul . Sukanya will be Sue.
