Very healthy discussion indeed.

Anil, Blue Lobster, Manav et al, ,thanks for bringing good points and insights.

As we all know everyone else has their own priorities and interests.
If its Job & Money alone, I would've even moved to Middle east with my US Experience where I could even afford some one to drive and assist me, (Middle east may certainly suit some folks, I am not denying that), we still prefer Canada because I have considered way lot of things and showed my zeal to establish my life in Canada.

I've got very strong confidence on Me and Canada.

Everyday, I keep piling up tons of good things about Canada that keep my motivation high. One last thing, there are few other boards I visit other than CD and this is the place where I've seen most negative comments, it may be because of the Social structure back in home where social stigma is attached if one is in adversity, or a chicken hearted feelings.

I always expect a crash like the one happened in Wallstreet may hit any place (Watch the move 'Seabiscuit' and I may need to rely quite on my physical effort to survive. Means no white collar Job., I'm well prepared for that though I feel comfortable as Im sitting on a sizeable cash stashed purely for my intial settlement in Canada, Besides Im not alone and my wife can also work. Though she is in Accounting still I've not promised an easy take off in Canada. Well, let us see, I keep my expectations low but high energy in such situations (Not pessimistic but the mentality to accept a failure), and intesify both as I move up so that I can battle up my feelings if failure strikes.

Good Luck to you all..

Why? This is my personal opinion, but making the worst-case scenario the premise of your primary approach is plain wrong. Its basic prudence to keep yourself prepared for things that could go wrong, however those kind of preprations should be reserved for when things do not go your way.

If you've made up your mind, you should come with VERY HIGH expectations. And put all your efforts towards those with the realization that if they don't work out, you always have plan B.

Don't mean to preach however try not to make other people's experiences shape a low-expectation attitude. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for exactly that experience.

I would like to have US green card but can not because so many changes in US immigration law and got lay off once when my labor got approved. I got tired and my 6 years are near to complete and I don’t want any extension. I am married having son so it's time to settle down now.

Whatever you can say I am failure or bad luck for US green card but that ok. I have happy with Canada also. I am ready to move and that country gave me immigration that is not my rights that is privilege and I should say THANKS to Canada and Canadians (you are also part of that) for that great life time offer. I will try my best to be great Canadian.

This is my personal opinion which part of country you live if you are not born and that country gave you green card/PR we should be thankful to that country. That is not our right that is privilege and we have to follow the law and order of that country.

OK, I am re-writing the one I did earlier.

I keep my expectations low [ No Red carpet Welcome, No 100K Job as mine in US, coz itsn't a reality in Canada Generally at the beginning, Not an immediate community recognition by all counts (out of a year research), no beautiful weather like Silicon Valley, No cheap Cars/Deals like US, No cheap Food like US etc.., etc.,)]. My low expectations align with the reality and information I've collected about Canada in the last two years.

But I keep my energy, zeal, momentum high to cope up the trend.
I had never been unemployed or unsuccessful in past and I avoid exhibiting any sort of arrogant attitude when it comes to prove my confidence and Motivation, I always stick to a lighter way and consistent.

My intention is not to contradict your comments but in reality every body maintain their own individual interests and Goal.

And my comments about US may sound as if I am maintaining a huge interest there but I prefer to be elusive to point out the all sort of things I don't like about US as it is my personal opinion and I'm ruling out to publish.

Thanks for your time folks.

Folks,
Whatever and whereever works for you is good for you. A friend of mine in South Africa is a owner of dimond mine and it is the best place for him there. Like for Ambani's and premji's India is good. Comparing countries may not be the best options as your factors also comes into play like qualifications, experience, financial background, personal choices etc.

Often people staying in one state in US for e.g. California tend to generalize that in US has good weather ( look at North Dakota/ South Dakota etc.). It is true that it is more moderate in temp in general. So it depends where you were in what situation. Anoher person a successful businessman from Texas was a complete failure in GTA while doing good in Edmonton. So there are many cases like that.

It is like holding an elephant's body part blindfolded and telling the world that elephant is like what they are holding on currently.

My personal opinion expressed no offence intended to anybody.

I can't agree more than what you're saying.
Priority differs from Person to Person and their requirements, well ofcourse to their situation and circumstances.
After visiting various countries and taking some insight about them, I felt no place is the best place by all means, every place has its own benefits and problems.
Any altercations and disputes on this subject isn't something I would ever prefer to raise.

Good Luck to all who have immigrated
