Hi Guys,

I have just moved to canada only to hear that the authorities are no more accepting the indian licence experience and you have to go through the complete process of about 20 months atleast (8 months for G2 and then 12 for G).
Does anyone know if there is some place where they do accept indian licencing and indian experience?

Or does anyone have more info on this?

yeah i know a place where they accept Indian licenses immediately..
it starts with I and ends in A..guess it..lol

u should go to our embassy and get ur DL certified (or whatever) i think now it takes much longer than it used to take..then u go to the CDN DL centres and give it..and they waive off the w8ing time b/w G1 and G2..

Yea. That's the process now. Unfortunately we all have to accept this.
Try getting G2, getting recognition for your Indian DL might take longer.
I assume you have just landed from India. Clear your written test. It helps. Atleast you will be well aware of all rules/regulations.
If you ask me, Job and financial stability makes the top of priority list.
- just my views ;).

Are you saying they are not considering your driving experience in India at all or you are saying that now they are asking Indian licenses be validated by High Commission and it is taking time.

Last time I went to Indian High Commission there was a note saying that they are sending Indian licenses to respective issuing authority in India and would take about 3 months for validation.

I would wonder if they are not recognizing even validated driver's licenses, they why would Indian High Commission have a service like validation of driving license?

it helps if you get an international licience from AAAin India. but I guess this info is no good to you here. But for all those who are still in India. get it and you will not need to have a long wait here.

I do not know about Nova Scotia and AAA in India (?) but my understanding is that you can drive for only 60 days in Ontario with international license and getting one will have no effect on wait time for getting driving license.
