I applied in April 2000 under independent category (skilled).
Received reply from CHC New Delhi in Oct 2000, that I will be called for interview in 24 months.
I have forwarded the IELTS score in July 03 to HC.
I get 76 points under the new rules.
(1) When can I get my interview call ?
(2) Can I get interview waiver ?
(3) How much time wait for medical after interview ?
(4) How much time for Visa papers after the medical?
Kindly post your reply
regards

If the visa officer is satisfied about your work experience and documentary evidence you have submitted, and if there is no issue of your English skills as per your IELTS results, there is every possibility of your interview waiver. As per present indicators, in case your interview is waived off, it may take an other 6 months for your medicals and landing papers.
Applications submitted earlier under old regulations are being dealt with by CHC on case to case basis ( if all the required documents are complete) As such exact processing period may vary.

BC is my intended destination,
Is it worth trying for jobs before landing there?
Or is it meaningless and better to try for jobs only after landing ?

You may try searching jobs through placement companies, job banks and other related sites. But practically no employer is going to offer job till you land in Canada as immigrant. Your resume should be tailor made according to the positions you are seeking in view of your education and work history.

Is there any requirement of minimum validity period for the dependents' passports, for issuance of landing paper and visa ?
Can the passports be renewed after issuance of Visa, before/after becoming a landed immigrant ?
