Dear Massoodji
I am a citizen and have been here for past five years. I had applied for my parents visitir visa to invite them for my convocation (they would stay here for 60 days-max). The embassy has rejected their visas three times saying that they havent shown enough proof that they would go back to India. They have no intensions of staying here whatsoever. Is there any way of getting their visa for a genuine reason like convocation? Please advice.
Regards
Prithy

I would advise you to contact your local MP, especially if he/she is of South Asian origin. Do not call them up. Drop into their office. Take a strongly worded letter, some photos, anything to stir them emotionally......like your parents have'nt seen you in 3 or 4 yrs etc.
I have heard of a case where a well connected person called up their local MP and gave them shit about their relatives being denied a visa. The MP made a call to the Canadian embassy the next day and the embassy called the relatives up the next day and issued the visa. So it can work......

I have only 2 cents to contribute, not a cent more, not a cent less ;-)
