Very simple Q why all Muslim countries have problems in world? When anything bad happen in world why this community comes in picture?

A major Islam population is not happy what western countries doing but what they/their leaders/religious leaders have done for their development? Thousands of people are dying in Africa by AIDS and hungers (mostly those are Muslim), have these people done anything for them? Billion of $ going from developed countries and celebrities to Africa. But there is no aid from these people or oil rich countries to those poor African Muslims.

“Whenever terrorism happens in some place, don’t know why muslims alone should take the blame.
Dawood Ibrahim has friends from all communities to run his underworld operations. LTTE which is now banned by the EU consists not anyone from muslim community. The Lankan Buddhist monks with whom LTTE is at ideological loggerheads, are considered more extremist and rabidly communal. It is because of them there has been no solution to the Sri Lankan problem. Buddhism is supposed to be one of the most peace loving religions.
When you talk of IRA, do we talk of religion though it came into existence because of the divisions between catholic and protestant communities?
About 60 years back was not the World War II fought between Britan and Germany, both of whom were not Muslim”.
All the original civilisations of North and South America have now been confined to American Museum of Natural History, not by muslims.”
The above are not my queries but those of my guru Mr. Cho Ramaswamy and his Thuglak magazine, from whom I get my enlightenment on India and World matters.

I do not see tamils itching to kill the jew and the infidel in Toronto and Madrid. They did come into India for their strikes but they have realised the folly of that. FYI: I do not support them either.

Localised again...for the most part. It was not about destroying the current world order to replace it with the Catholic or Protestant world order.

What does that prove? Supremacists lost then and they should do so again

I dont think any community is above blame for the current state of affairs.

I ask again...what is the point of playing the blame game?

EVERYONE is to blame. That does not take away from the issue WHAT NOW? Where do we go from here? Theres plenty of blame to go around does that mean everyone is justified?

If that is so OR not we have to take precautions and sides...until its decided that we can all make compromises inorder to get along. Playing the blame game will lead to the similar endpoint since both sides will say the other is 'more' to blame.

Perhaps, most of the problems will diminish when

1. None of the Muslim countries (esp.., Mid east) have Oil / Gas.

2. None of the Muslim populated country / region can be an ideal place to set up a military base to either control/monitor China or Russia, other economically superior nation or atleast a way to pressurize their economy, such as Kashmir, Chechenya, Bozniya, Some province in China, Srilanka wouldn't be a surprise too.

3. Largest weapon makers don't really want to sell the weapons to 3rd world countries but just to defend them. Don't really need a place to demo the weapons, No F15s to Pakistan and No F18 to India and No to keep F20 with us till F30 is developed and then to sell the prior versions to 3rd world.

4. None of the major Financial institutions don't really bother to rip the 3rd world financial sector, wouldn't influence all Govt sector to be sold to Public (Well, wealthy investors alone).

Atleast after the Mid east oil/gas dries up, I expect the focus shift else where.

Aren't there a large tyrannical muslim dictators in Africa, but hey who cares..

A brave muslim voice may perhaps answer

The Trouble with Islam Today is an open letter from me, a Muslim voice of reform, to concerned citizens worldwide -- Muslim and not. It's about why my faith community needs to come to terms with the diversity of ideas, beliefs and people in our universe, and why non-Muslims have a pivotal role in helping us get there.

The themes I'm exploring with the utmost honesty include:

the inferior treatment of women in Islam;
the Jew-bashing that so many Muslims persistently engage in; and
the continuing scourge of slavery in countries ruled by Islamic regimes.
I appreciate that every faith has its share of literalists. Christians have their Evangelicals. Jews have the ultra-Orthodox. For God's sake, even Buddhists have fundamentalists.

But what this book hammers home is that only in Islam is literalism mainstream.Which means that when abuse happens under the banner of Islam, most Muslims have no clue how to dissent, debate, revise or reform

How you can support the liberal reformation of Islam through 'Project Ijtihad'

What's Ijtihad?

Ijtihad (pronounced 'ij-tee-had') is Islam’s lost tradition of independent thinking. In the early centuries of Islam, thanks to the spirit of ijtihad, 135 schools of thought thrived. Inspired by ijtihad, Muslims gave the world inventions from the astrolabe to the university. So much of we consider 'western' pop culture came from Muslims: the guitar, mocha coffee, even the ultra-Spanish expression 'Ole!' (which has its root in the Arabic word for God, 'Allah').

What happened to ijtihad?

Toward the end of the 11th century, the 'gates of ijtihad' were closed for entirely political reasons. During this time, the Muslim empire from Iraq in the east to Spain in the west was going through a series of internal upheavals. Dissident denominations were popping up and declaring their own runaway governments, which posed a threat to the main Muslim leader -- the caliph. Based in Baghdad, the caliph cracked down and closed ranks. Remember those 135 schools of thought mentioned above? They were deliberately reduced to four, pretty conservative, schools of thought. This led to a rigid reading of the Koran as well as to a series of legal opinions -- fatwas -- that scholars could no longer overturn or even question, but could now only imitate. To this very day, imitation of medieval norms has trumped innovation in Islam. It’s time to revive ijtihad to update Islam for the 21st century. That’s why I’ve created Project Ijtihad.
