only one line for this thread --
"gaon basaa nahi aur bhikhari pehle aa gaye"
But this is a typical of this discussion board. People go off topic by tearing down the points into minute issues and going off on tangents.
Allow me to set the record straight.
1. The title says this : India @ war with Canada .Which side would you be ? A simple enough question.
2. I bring the issue into focus for those with dual citizenships.
3. Jake3D makes the point that patriotism is a "relative" notion. One governed by the current spin between India and Canada.
4. I counter the "relative" idea and reaffirm my absolute patriotism to Canada. This is vis-a-vis the title.
5. and Jake3D takes offence to my pooh poohing the idea of "relativity" and makes the point that by changing my patriotism it is not absolute. He follows up by throwing some more tests of patriotism. It was not directly related the title but not too far off.
6. I take the opportunity explain what I mean by absolute patriotism. Vis-a-Vis the title, I am an absolute Canadian Patriot.
7. Yet again we have the pulling out of dictionary and finding the meaning absolute and the meaning of patriotism. What does this have to do with the topic at hand?
Let me say this. Absolute patriotism is the idea that I am patriotic to only one nation. One cannot have divided patriotism. That is unpatriotic to both nations involved in the war. This speaks to the title and dual citizenship. In a war between any other country and Canada, I stand with Canada. The other country involved, be it India, China, US, or Ireland, may spin my moral compass if they wish. My patriotism is not going to be affected. I may not agree with the war, the tactics, the leaders but I am still patriotic to Canada.

Argue as much as you want but....

Isn't this healthy? If this was not for discussion, then this would have been a poll: which side you would take? and the final answer would be in percentage.
"This is a discussion board".

Citizenship is like Marriage. You accept the good and the bad of your partner when you do the Sat Pherey.
