canada appartment rent is tex deductible only if you yearn low income i think. where are you now?

May I please request you one thing? Please update your location or at least Province of Residence in your profile. It helps us to provide you a correct answer as some rules are different from one Province to another and it may result in conflicting or incorrect answers.

In the absence of this, I am replying your question assuming that you are in Ontario.
Here the rent of your apartment in NOT tax deductible. However, every one gets this as a Non Refundable Property Tax credit and it is computed through some formula and added with Sales tax credits based on your family situation but only people with low income get it.

In some cases, where a person is self employed and works from home (home office) may be able to deduct part of rental expenses from his income but every body's tax situation is different and one should contact a tax professional in case of doubt or visit
