Does benz make minivan? R-class sure looks like one, but door configuration wise etc., it is more like an SUV.

Are you looking to buy new or used? Are you looking to re-sell in a few years or own for a longer period? How much do you drive around? Lots depend on these aspects.
If you are a very casual user putting in less than 15K per year or so - that too mostly in GTA, and intend to own for longer years, Hyundai/Kia may be value for money. Actually Dodge Caravan may be the best bet in that case. On the other hand, if you are a heavy user, does long drives, want good resale money etc., you may want to put in more money and get a honda/toyota/Chrystler.
Thanks,
buying for long term...not to resell soon....
abt new or used, ideally used is good for insurance purpose but seems like due to all this going on, new would be cheaper and a better deal ?
no heavy driving, v less, 15-20 k max in a year.

1. I am curious to know why you rate Hyundai/Kia for low mileage?

2. The regular Dodge Caravan is not really a good idea - for a few grand more, you get a much more spacious and functional Van in Hyundai/Kia. The Dodge Grand Caravan is better, but the pricing nears Honda/Toyota - so i would not even look at it.

3. Chrysler is in the same category as Caravan IMO.

4. Among American Vans, actually Ford has the better vehicle.
I am not sure what kind of resale values we can predict for future for any of the Gas vehicles - since 5 yrs down the line, Hybrids or Electric cars might be the order of the day...who knows.

Which one is good : toyota sienna & honda odyssey - the best two
Economical to buy : out of the ones you listed : mazda 5
Economical to drive / maintain : toyota sienna & honda odyssey
If you dont want to spend much money, Hyundai entourage would be a wise choice !!
PS: This is just my opinion.
