I have a Master's degree in Microbiology and working with a biopharmaceutical company in India. My total experience is 14 years and currently working as Group leader Recombinant Fermentation. I would like to know under which occupation am I eligible for immigraton. If somebody can help me for getting an arranged employment offer. Please reply.
There are no jobs for Canadians/immigrants currently and you asking about job offer. Buddy stay in India will be good for you other hand keep trying to see Canada.
It’s really very hard these days and you have to study first then also not sure to get in pharma.I am not discouraging you but think before you move.
Good Luck

You have done your Masters etc... and with 14 years exp, your age could be between 36-40.
You would be better of in India.. The grass is not always green on the other side.
Check for jobs on Workopolis or Monster, if you are not able to locate jobs in your field...
Forget Canada
If you apply now,you are likely to get Immigrant visa after 2012.
By that time situation may change here, but you will be also older -
Think properly, if you are an Employer , will you employ an old person or look for younger man?
I am surprised at the attitude of those responding to the original post. Each of these posts is drenched in negativism, and hardly balanced. Given that the employment scenario is not great, do we have to bully someone (or sound like we are bullying), simply because our experiences have not been great.
Yeah a balanced reply would be to say that these are the downsides of seeking employment here, at this time, and these are the sources that you might want to contact or research. That would have been helpful. Without any prejudice on my part, I can say that none of the replies were balanced or helpful to the poster. Now he might wonder, why did I post here, in the first place? Did I do something wrong?
Any answers?
To the Original poster: Yes, the job scenario isn't great at this time, The economy isn't as big as the US, and even in the greatest of times, there are fewer jobs here. However that should not discourage you. I know of someone in similar circumstances who refused to give up, did not take \"No\" for an answer and kept persisting. Today he works as a Toxicologist for the Federal Government.
You might want to do your research, through the internet, the scientific associations and your contacts here. The only magic wand that will get you results is persistence, focus and a \"can do\" attitude. Keep positive and never give up, and the doors of success WILL open.
Good Luck!

Just because somebody gives negative opinion, it doesn't mean that they are not doing well in Canada... How can you assume that ??
Considering his qualification, work exp and the time that might take for him to get here (immigration)... What would be his age ????
What % of people in that age group succeed ? Unless his qualification meets the requirement of his probable employer.... He will find it tough to get a job.
What I mean by qualification :- basically hands on what he can do for the employer .. not just degrees / post grad degrees, these will remain only on paper just like 1000's of people who are in Canada but working in totally unrelated jobs.
At an age of 45, what will be his enthusiasm, if he fails in the first few attempts ? What about his family, children's education (in case they decide to go back ) .. Can they adjust on survival jobs ? How long can he have this enthusiasm ?
He is working for an MNC.... probably having a good income. More than income it is good / comfortable life back in India.
Easy to say... facing reality is another story !!
In MO, his age is on the wrong side and that is very important if you are relocating to Canada. If he has a job lined up.. but that again is a different situation.
Canada is good for people in the age group of 26-30... provided thay have the required hands on work exp or they should have job lined before comming. Nowadays with the processing time and the min work exp requirements will take of this age group, provided they graduate by 21/22.
If one is less than 25 years old (after arriving here on immigration ), they can further study or plan the future... This age group will be the best suitable for adapting to Canada. They may not be married, can take chances
More than 35 years ... stay put where ever you are, or come and try your luck. Be prepared to go back. Take a month or 2 of vacation and come !! (If you are in Govt job.. you can
30-35 years ..... Sitting on the wall... can jump either way. Most of them might be married.
