Just curious to know:
* How much % will come back to CGI from that C$19.25?
* Since many services will be outsourced, does that mean that CGI will be over staffed after May 22nd? If so, then how many people will be laid off?
OR
CGI will have to recruit more people to supervise the 'outsourced' activities?
* Would there be any accountability for the revenue generated and how that money will be spent?

As I see it, instead of location A we will now go to Location B, and pay $19.25 extra....
For residents of Brampton and Mississauga it may be a little convenient drive and parking experience, but "$19.25 times #of passports" extra for that ??Unless there are some other convenience factors that I can't see... e.g. expeditious processing, reletively shorter wait time, better customer service etc...
And if convenience was not the factor that lead to this change, then I would consider it just an increase in CGI fee for all services by $19.25 ....

Dont know about VFS in Canada yet, but VFS in India is doing a very good job of visa application handling. The difference from the 1990s when we lined up early outside the US consulate to apply for visa and the orderly manner it is done now, the A/C waiting lounge, the bus service etc...it is all worth the cost in Mumbai.
I believe $19.25 will be worth the additonal cost if we get free parking, decent customer service and knowledgeable staff to help prepare your application before sending it to CGI.
BTW, I have been to Chinese consulate for VISA and you cannot believe the speed with which they work. I was in queue standing at no. 8 or 10, but reached the window within 5 minutes. Despite the operator assisting most applicants with thier paper work....
After getting the CDN citizenship and OCI for the family, I dont foresee any visits to the CGI or VFS - is that true?

OCI sticker for under 20 and over 50 yrs of age, needs to be renewed everytime candian passport is renewed (i.e. after every 5 yrs) ... although that can be done via mail as well, i guess we will still pay $19.25 ....again if we have to mail the documents than why should there be vfs fee of $19.25 ? correct me please if there is no vfs fee in that case...

The fee applies only if you use thier service. For any application mailed directly to CGI, there is no fee...IMO.
