I can only marvel at what you have achieved academically & professionally as they are so beyond me. :)

Apologies as I don't have feedback on the employment viability in CA. Other informed members might have an opinion.

Good Luck! :)

They say that bilinguilism and having contacts within to recommend you are prerequisites for government jobs. Also I am not sure if being a government of India employee in the past will be a negative or a plus factor. However everything is speculation. I read somewhere that if you never apply you will definately never get the job but if you do apply at least there is a chance you might be considered. Given your wealth and quality of experience the norm may not apply. Can I also suggest you look at academic jobs in colleges/schools/universitites or in research institutes doing large scale studies. I hope someone here realises what an asset you will be to their organisation.

I believe that to get a job in federal government, you need to be a Canadian citizen, be bilingual and pass the security clearance.

Having said that, you can look on the Federal government website to see the jobs that suits your credentials. You can also apply for civil services jobs. They require a masters degree, which you have.

On a side note, until now the head of Statistics Canada was a guy of Pakistani origin, who resigned in protest of the long form census reform.

Not sure if the bilingual requirement applies to all federal jobs.
