Hello Group
I was at Wal-Mart auto center in square one last Saturday and while I was leaving their shop, one of their drivers who was driving another one of their clients car, backed out from the service bay right into my car and damaged the passenger side door. One of the Wal-Mart managers came and took pictures ands wrote down what happened and took down my details and said that Wal-Mart will bet back to me for further course of action. I also took some pictures.
Today I got a call from Wal-Mart insurance company and the guy asked me to get a quotation from a body shop and give it to them. I told him that I will get the quotation from my dealership and he said that if they feel that the quote by the dealership is unreasonable then they will only pay what they think is reasonable. I told him that I would expect them to pay what ever the dealership quotes as it was the mistake of Wal-Mart's driver. Being the leeches they are I am getting a feeling that the Wal-Mart insurance company will try to penny pinch on the settlement ands ask me to take my car to a cheap body shop which I dont want to do.
Also now , in order for me to go to the dealership to get a quotation I have to take time off of work and lose pay because the dealership is open only from 8-5pm. I don’t know if I will be able to claim this pay loss as well. Can any of you advise an appropriate course of action.
Thanks for your time

I maybe wrong, but as I far as I know, if you involved in any accident, you DO NOT deal with other party's insurance company.
You need to report to the collision center and deal with your OWN insurance company and provide them all the relevant details.
Call your insurance company and work accordingly.
Many dealers and their body shops are open on evenings and weekends - you can shop around.
Good luck, it is a pain, but fortunately you are not at fault - so relax.

You are right....u deal with your insurance company only ...not the other party.
Since it happened in a private parking lot this probably will be paid under walmart Business insurance or Auto insurance rather than OPs auto insurance claim.
Thats the only thing that explains why walmart insurance is talking to the op.
The op should any way report to his own insurance and ask for how to proceed.
is collision report absolute necessary to go through insurance?
