Hello Everyone,
Let me start by saying I am not the best at technology. We have a lot of our kids pictures and videos in old laptops and computers. What the best way to store them or keep them secure? we don't want to use online tools for privacy reasons. The old fashioned way of printing pictures will be a mess. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Shriya.

you may be someone to the world but for someone you are the world.
Upload your photos on flickr.com ( an online album service at no charge )
https://www.flickr.com/
Don't forget to make all your albums as 'Private" . Share the link only with the trusted family members.

Cloud (online) from reliable sources such as Amazon or Google are fairly secure. If you are not comfortable, you can store them in portable hard drives. This way, all the pictures stay together in one location.
I have a couple of 3 TB western digital portable drives and have a backup of all the 8000 or so pictures.
I also have Amazon prime which offers unlimited photo/video storage. So I have them on cloud as well, which means they are accessible via my phone using the Amazon photo app.

I keep my photos on Google Photos in private albums. It is almost similar to flickr.

Assuming you are using phone to click your photos
Google provides 2 options
1. Google Photos App
Add your gmail account
download google photos app
use settings -backup and synch to auto upload the photos,
Even if you delete the photo from device, the photos are backed up.
2. Google Drive
Settings, Auto Add option.
This way , without taking any action, your photos are backed up and you can free up space on device without 'housekeeping' !
