Hi,
I see lots and lots of Dodge Caravan Mini Vans come on sale (Used Vehicle) in various Used Vehicle Trading websites.
Most of them r around 2000 Models and from Private owners.
What is so speical about these vehicles that they come on sale often.
Are they highly purchased?
Your views and any experience please.
Personally I would love to have a mini-van for my family outing and in place of Van I would seriously consider SUV too coz I (we) wouldn't be driving these Vehicles as much as our Commute Cars.

- Tnx,
JRF.

Dodge Caravan is a very popular car in Canada.
I don't have any stats handy, but just going to observation, I would say that it is THE most popular mini-van in Canada.

Mainly, popularity, price and cheap[er] insurance.
A friend recently bought a 1998 Caravan for $2000 and is paying only $60 insurance on it p.m.

That's your choice. However, please consider the following disadvantages of SUVs over mini-vans
- Mini vans are far, far more safer (usually) as compared to SUVs. A lot of SUVs have control and balance problems which cause over-turning dangers in crashes. Therefore, mini vans are rated as much safer.
- SUV is mostly a single person/couple's recreational vehicle. Mini vans are more family oriented.
- Insurance of SUVs is much higher compared to mini vans

I'm sure there are pros and cons both ways, so do your research and then decide.

Here is a MSN site that compares a few popular mini-vans.

My parents still have their dodge caravan from 1997 ! They have done a lot of long distance driving and its still going well.. though doesnt have all the power options.

I've heard the Sienna and Odessy are the best ones though also the priciest. Dodge is good if you are looking for an economic vehicle. What I like about the Sienna is that its roomy inside (wider).. and looks really nice on the outside.
