SS,
I agree with you since you have first hand experience and also b'cos you have been here for a longer time than me + you have more network/ friends/ relatives in Canada.
Just take my case. My income for the last year was : 30K.
i put $3500 in charitable donations and $7500 on RRSP (both amounts true) but i was not audited. Now who would give $3500 in donation on a 30K income. Would that not be strange?
Also for my wife, i over paid her RRSP by $2500. (last year, i overpaid her RRSP by $2000) but we did not pay any fine. Her RRSP overcontribution was cut off in this years allowance.
This is just my experience.
Last year, i had claimed some benefits through my T-5008 income. The CRA did not grant it. i filed a compalint. They had not granted it since they did not have my T-5008 form. So i faxed it to them (in june) and after that they wanted me to pay $16 in higher tax calculation.

TK, just curious, what are these " some benefits through T5 income" ??
Hi Aashu,
I made a mistake. It was not T5 form. It was T-5008 (Statement of Investment income). I tried to get credit for my capital losses. I actually could not understand much but next time i will contact an auditor to really get me money.
Sorry for the honest mistake. I will edit my posts.
It for such reasons that i have my disclaimers!
