How is the ICICI bank for sending money to India (Chennai)? Any experience with them? how much they charge?

I use them ...
I have NRE Savings Account in Mumbai. Free Transfer that too Hassle Free ! I like this way better.

I think you can. They send all papers to your preferred branch.

I can at least tell you that the min balance requirement is 10k and You can 'designate' any one Indian to operate your account. Money Transfer as I said, is very convinient.
