Does anybody know what is the current timeline in getting the OCI, if applied from Toronto?
please make sure your photos are good enough as mentioned on the http://www.mha.nic.in" rel="nofollow">LINK website. photos are rejected if not right. and the delay can be frustrating.
they told me to reprint my form, send in a new photo and this was 2 months after i submitted my OCI misc application to transfer my sticker to my new passport. VSF Toronto, does not tell you your photo is of wrong specs.
make it 2inchx2inch - (51 mm x 51 mm).
and if you call 416-900-1160, you'll get diff answers, and some dont even know where you can find stuff on the web.

the 45 ppl a day was a thing of the past when CGI Toronto was processing the applications. You can use VFS now.
Also, nobody has yet answered in terms of the current processing timelines.
I applied for OCI on 5th July 2010 at Brampton center & it was all done on 28th July 2010. So it only takes around 25 days now considering everything is OK.
First I got my originals back after 7 days along with the new file no to check on the Indian visa website. After 2 days when I checked, the visas were already granted & was dispatched to Toronto. It took 11 days to come to Toronto & then I gave my Canadian passport again for sticker & after 3 days it was available for pick-up at Brampton center.
The procedure is very easy & convinient, if you do everything correctly including the photographs as mentioned in the above post. Also go to the VFS website and there the whole procedure is being explained along with photographs size.
