Recently I watched this movie Interstellar on IMAX format and was completely blown away.
Hands down this is best movie I've ever watched in a theatre.
The combination of sound physics theories, logic and melodrama was mind blowing.
My kid who did not enjoy science is spending more time on physics related sites to understand the concepts conveyed in the movie.
Hope another Dr.Raj Koothrapalli is created in my home.
Interestingly Rajnikanth starrer LINGA in USA is a hit with fans doing milk abhishekam for his cut out in Silicon Valley.
Go Figure!.

Felt the same way when I watched Clooney/Sandra starrer Gravity in 3D. And my son who has seen Interstellar says it is even better than Gravity.
To rest on laurels and addiction to flattery is a big problem in TN. Even for ordinary song album releases (Isai Veliyudu Vizha) they spend as much for a small budget movie. Not satisfied with big auditoriums or 5 star hotels they even fly to destinations like Malaysia or Singapore. The events are hosted by TV stars, who scream not just their heads but even their necks off. Speaker after speaker turn up to scratch the back of the person who spoke before them. The only poor soul on the stage where the function is conducted is the Producer of the movie whose face itself will tell all the story of what he has undergone or undergoing. All this is done supposedly for the sake of the poor fans/audience/movie goers. But ultimately when the movie is released it turns out to be very ordinary. The only benefit for the people these days is, greater the budget of these pre-launch functions, they can know that more ordinary the movie will be.
Great movie makers of the 50s and 60s like AVM have completely withdrawn because of the hoax played on the public.

I loved Gravity. I hated Interstellar. .. I thought it was pure bullshit. For god sake why does the guy have access to the area behind the bookshelf instead of in front.
Interstellar was like a 3/10 for me.
Gravity was like a 8/10
