Dear Friends,
I am deciding on moving to Canada. Will start the application process now.
I am 39 years and in IT field. I am an Indian and working in Singapore. I have masters degree in Info Tech. and 13 Years of IT experience.
How easy it is to get a Job first and then Land in Canada?
Considering my age, the time I will get my PR (at abt. 42), generally how easy or difficult will it be to get job at around age of 40 ?.
I have read a lot about horrible experiences (as well as Success stories) of Migrating to Canada.
Better life style & future of Children are what I am thinking about.
Appreciate Your responses.
IT is a good sector for getting jobs in Canada.
Being in Singapore, you must be having a good lifestyle. If you can move with a job, that would be the best thing. You might also have enough funds to support yourself for one year during which you can find a job as per your qualifications & experience.
Getting a job in one's field is very difficult in Canada.
Rgds,

R u saying that there you dont have a better life style in Singapore? This is interesting. Singapore is a developed country in Asia.
IMO, how the IT sector will be in 2 yrs is anybody's guess. The way it melted down couple of yrs back, I would be careful. May be u could find a job in Singapore that has offices in Canada and its easy for you to move. E.g. CGI, Oracle(?), IBM, etc.

You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership
You can tackle it in two ways, it is like climbing a mountain:
a. Climb via stiff cliff, climbing vertically, hanging in the air by a slender rope, blown around by winds; there is a special charm in that, but it is not for everyone.
b. Climb up a slope or a ramp.
If you are one of the people who would prefer option b. then choice remains between:
a. Finding a job in Canada and then shifting, and applying for PR
b. Finding a job in Singapore, in a company having office in Canada, seeking a transfer, then shifting to Canada, and then applying for PR.
There can be variations to the above theme.
