Thanks all for your replies.

I truly understand the situation & infact people warning you before hand makes you prepared for the worst. But, don't you all think we should atleast give it a try???

If by God's grace I can find some jobs through references before arriving in Canada or I take a decision to do higher studies will that be good enough to move ahead???

Please suggest some steps that I can take when in India to upgrade myself. Does certification from International bodies hold any value in Canada?

My husband & I have already decided that not both of us will leave jobs to immigrate to Canada coz we have home load emi's to pay here in India, which cannot be put on hold.

Lalitha

There are some candid views expressed by fellow CDs, clearly it will be fair not to expect a cake walk to settle in all together a new country, will be more difficult if not traveled outside specifically to Americas , as there is cultural difference as well as you will realise the language matters much, not only knowing but also how do you speak.

But you will not succeed cannot be the conclusion. Everybody possess different capabilities and approach towards job finding and adjusting to new land rules.

Your husband works in US based mnc, he may try for a internal transfer this side , if in some canadian subsidary, even better. In case you guys are planning that one will come first, ask your husband to do so as chance for him to find a job in IT field will be more (no offense ;-) , reasons like his experience in US mnc, IT field, quality testing etc. are stronger.

Since you have an option today, give it a chance , instead of keeping it a talking point only for rest of your life.

I completely agree with san-hugo's advise .

Take the chance of at least taking the PR ( Take couple of months of leave and come here ) .

Find out everything for yourself and your husband being in IT can stay back and find a job in canada and further take a decision on your future course of action .

also note it is much colder here in winter's as compared to India/Chennai .

All the best .

To Lalitha2483

"I truly understand the situation & infact people warning you before hand makes you prepared for the worst. But, don't you all think we should atleast give it a try???"

You have done the research and you know the facts. It appears that in your mind you have decided to make a plunge and looking for a positive success story to help convince yourself that the decision made is correct. Having spent time and $$ on the PR process it is natural you don't want them to go to a waste.

Since you have an IT person in your family , that person can give a try. Atleast IT is one of the very few field where one can hope to get a decent job. That will give you confidence to make your decision.

Canada job hunting adventure is to be experienced individually. Why keep searching for success stories. Make one.

You will be better off by staying in India and financing your daughters education here. She can then apply for PR herself once she finsihes her education.
This country is a hit or miss, I was lucky to hit but I know many who have missed. Also, if you plan on coming here first check of your qualifications are recognised here and then spend three months here and check for yourself.
