Cant understand the need for this landing paper..
It is never mentioned in or before the landing about the importance of this piece of paper and then when u want to renew ur PR or get a citizenship they ask for this document.
Lot of ppl end up losing it.. I was lucky i ended up retaining it by chance..

landing paper missing
With one of our application the landing paper is missing but attached all the rest. Does anyone know if the application will be processed? If not how can I get a missing landing paper.
Thanks
Yes, it is a very important piece of paper. You need to save it for your pension too!
Take care of the paper that you get at citizenship too because Indian High Commission will ask that in case you apply for OCI or something.

6.6. Documents required with citizenship application
The Citizenship Regulations define which documents are required, as a minimum, to support
applications for adult and minor grants of citizenship, resumption, retention and
renunciation of citizenship.
For example, subsection 3(4) of the Regulations requires that the following documents be
submitted with an application for a grant of citizenship under subsection 5(1) of the Act.
(a) a birth certificate or other evidence that establishes the date and place of birth of the
applicant;
(b) a record of landing IMM 1000 or a Permanent Resident Card (PR card) or a Confirmation
of Permanent Residence IMM 5292 or any replacement document that may be created by
the Canadian authorities or other evidence that establishes the date on which the applicant
was lawfully admitted to Canada for permanent residence;
(c) two photos of the applicant signed by the applicant of the size and type shown on form
Citizenship Photograph Specifications (CIT 0021) prescribed under section 28 of the Act.
Hi Guys,
I do have landing papers. But my son's (5 years old) landing paper is not readable at all (not even origional).
I am thinking to apply for certified copy for his landing paper.
1) Should I sign (on behalf of my child) supplementary form which is available at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5541E.pdf ? OR should I send without signature?
2) Do I need to fill form of representative which is available at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5475E.pdf as asked in application guide? If yes, who should sign this form ? (My son is just 5 years old)
Anyone have applied on behalf of his son/daughter?
Thanks in advance,

Success is Never Ending and Failure is Never Final.
As for as I am concerned, I would just sign the papers on behalf of the child and no need to sign the representative forms. Please note that I am not a lawyer just making a logical conclusion.
Do they need the originals or certified copies of these documents ?
In lieu of record of landing , would an entry in a Passport noting entry and striking of the Visa on the same date be acceptable ?
