I have to attend for Oath Ceremony in the month of Feb. Right now I am in USA on H1-B visa and I will be visiting India for more than 4 months.
I would like to reschedule the Oath Ceremony, could someone suggest me what is the procedure involved and can I request CIC to Reschedule my Oath Ceremony after 5 or 6 months. What are the possibilities?
I would appreciate ur early response on this.

I don't there is anything to worry. One of my friends had the same situation and got a rescheduled date after he returned from India. A lot of desi's are afraid of this situation. Nothing to worry.

You can reschedule only once.

If you do not attend the re-scheduled date, you cannot reschedule it again.

Once you miss the rescheduled date you will have to file in a new application.

i have the same problem for my dad..can sum1 tell me if i can do that on the phone it has to be by mail?
his oath ceremony is in end of feb..and hes not coming back till first week of the may..

All you need to do to reschedule is to give them a call at CIC Call centre: 1888-242-2100; and let them know the period when you'll not be able to make it to your Oath. The representative will put the same on your file and while scheduling your Oath, they will refer to this period for not scheduling anything.

That's what I have done for the month of March while I am away.
