Hi All,
Just wondering if any of you have been to Hinton, Alberta which is next best option if you don't get any hotels in Jasper. I am planning to go to Jasper but stay at Hinton for couple nights during August long weekend but unable to decide which hotel/motel/inn to stay in. If anybody can recommend any hotel from first-hand experience, it'll be great.
Thanks in advance,
vagg
I stayed in Days inn at Hinton as it was much cheaper than hotels in Jasper and "seemed" near
Oh Boy, it was far off and complete change of scenery so if possible stay in Jasper. There is an awesome hotel right on a river bank but Idon't recall the name.
Days inn is time pass, neat and clean though. I liked it as the suite I got had a kitchen. There are couple of other hotels nearby too.
Hinton is around 80 kms away from Jasper ,about 2 hrs drive and there are several good hotels.

Thanks for your replies.
I also want to stay in Jasper but its turning out to be quite expensive (more than double) to stay in Jasper compared to Hinton which I guess is around an hour drive from Jasper but probably half an hour drive from Jasper National Park's east entrance which shouldn't be that bad.
Gapodi, taking scenery into consideration is it really not worth staying in Hinton?
Thanks again,
vagg

Last year we stayed at Holiday INN at Hinton, its worth
If you are getting hotels at half rate in Hinton compare to Jasper,
go with it
Its not far from Jasper
What if staying at private accomodation provider instead of hotels/motels.
There is one association called JHAA (Jasper housing accomodation association). The members of that association can provide accomodation with private room, bed, kitchen, bath etc and their charges are very low (no any tax) compared with hotels/motel.
Anybody can have experience/views, pls share.
