Just a few known people of mine, have used Turkish air so far, but have not heard complaint yet. Many of the passengers are not returned yet. Turkish is trying to capture canadian business so I don't think they will compromise in giving service. Saving of $200-$300 per passanger will be enought, to do not complain for 8/10 service.

Regarding visa; I don't think there is visa required if you just take straight or connecting flight in Turkey. There is $60 visa fee per person for CANADIAN PASSPORT HOLDER if you plan to visit Turkey. It can be obtained from Ottawa mission or port of entry in Turkey.

I have recently seen fares of $1,250 for Air France on websites.
I have never traveled on Turkish Air, but I have flown Air France twice and have had a good experience.
For $140, IMHO, Air France offers good reliability and value.

Thanks for the info Hamrahi!

Pratickm , we were debating bet Air France, Lufthansa and Turkish but finally succumbed to the good rates offered by Turkish.

Hope the experience is good!

I recently saw an email from Tour East Holidays advertising flights from Toronto to Mumbia for about $750+taxes.

Yeah, the taxes are about $400 - $450, bringing the total in the $1,150 - $1,250 range anyway.
It is very rare to get a direct flight with a reputable airline in the $1,000 range, all inclusive.
In all these years I only managed to do it once.

You are right Pratick.

Last year we went to India in December end & came back in January end with KLM for only $990 (inclusive of all taxes).

This year the price are a little high but I booked (though had to cancel for some personal reasons) a flight again with KLM going to Delhi in Mid Jan and coming back in Mid Feb for $1070. And, if I were to take a break in journey in Amsterdam for more than 24 hours, I was getting the ticket for $1100.

I was told by my travel agent that the prices may still be in the same range through KLM and Air France for the same time frame though I may not be going this year again.
