I will repeat again; its an election year & the current president of US is for re-election, not like 2008 when Bush wasn't in for re-election. Everything will be done to grease the financials & prevent the global economy from going into recession.

Here's one proof "white house controlling the Fed governors"... who will print not directly but indirectly, as direct printing is politically damaging for Obama's re-election.. (I mean there will be no direct QE; however, most of the printing will be via Operation Twist, & via swap lines to other central banks which will do their own LTRO's).

End result is : No Recession; but very High inflation..... which will feel like a recession for those with less pay..

IMO, we are entering in deep recession now,

I am working automobile dealership and compnay has started to give lay off and cutting off our hours from next week.

Thank God is Friday.........:-)

That's strange because I know somebody who works in another dealership who was mentioning that business couldnt be better ; It's a matter of perspective

I don't know about your friend, but i am working in Service dept and business is really really slow compare to last couple of years.

If you see the sales of new cars across North America, they have recovered nicely after the recession of 2008-09. Also, with the close to 0% financing available,it is much more sensible to purchase a new car and replace your old clunker, rather than make those trips to the dealership to service your old one. Also, the newer, fuel efficient models are another driving force (pun unintended) ;) for the new car sales.

Higher Oil price itself is like a major tax on consumers.. & on top of that supply bottlenecks like this -- (can create even higher price spike)..

This is really shocking news (though it was kind of expected: but it will happen so soon wasn't expected)..

A US public pension plan files for bankruptcy

In what's believed to be a first by a US public pension plan, the Northern Mariana Islands Retirement Fund filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Tuesday.
The public defined-benefit plan is in a big hole. At the moment, it's only 38.8% funded, thanks to low investment returns and a benefit structure that's been increased without raises in funding, according to the bankruptcy filing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. commonwealth consisting of three major islands in the Western Pacific.
