I'm really disappointed in the budget too. It hasn't been that long since India has had independence, only about 6 decades during which a multitude of incredibly complex problems have accumulated in the country. The Modi govt. had ONE FULL MONTH to solve everything with this budget. Its shameful that they haven't been able to address every gap in ONE WHOLE MONTH. 30 > 6, how can they not solve only 6 decades of problems in 30 FULL days!!

They should've followed Kejriwal's example who completely changed the face of Delhi in a very short duration and then resigned when there was nothing more left to do. There is no corruption in Delhi anymore and there never will be now, thanks to his lasting legacy. In fact, two weeks into his CM tenure, Bolllywood was seriously considering renaming the movie "Delhi ka thug" to "Delhi ka sant", because there are no thugs in Delhi now. Everybody in Delhi loved the new "heaven on earth" they were living in and would've voted AAP back into power right away, if not for corrupt capitalists like Ambani, Adani et. al., who teamed up with Dr. Evil to release something into the air on election day that forced Delhites to vote for BJP. And so, despite all his great work and amazing accomplishments, AAP didn't even win a single seat there.
Shame on you, BJP!

Let's look at the reality. Modi cant do everything. There are Congress ruled states that will oppose anything Modi proposes. At the same time, Modi can do a lot since he has the majority in LS and has the backing of Amma in the RS. he can bulldoze the bills if he wants. When the centre proposed a policy regarding onions, Maha govt opposed it since the onion lobby in that state is ruled by NCP and Congress. Those people call the shots for onion prices in the country. This is just an example where states can derail things.
If Modi wants to improve things in the country, let him push for improvement in the police, judiciary, govt staff (not making the job secure even if they are caught in corruption cases), etc. Five yrs is a long time to do these things. If he at least start the process, he will be easy winner next time too.

DELHI INDIAN
The UNO report says that more than one third of the world's poor live in India (Ref Deccan Herald news item dated July 17th).
One previous day news item in the same paper stated that Reliance Industries had been slapped additional fine of $579 million taking the total penalty by the Indian Government to a staggering 2.376 billion dollars. If the penalty itself is this much the actual losses suffered by the government or the people of India must be at least 4 times more. Did RIL steal Oil from the high seas while pretending all the time they could not supply the same to the oil companies?
This is just one of many such business houses.
And we have to believe the two reports do not have any connection.
