Sorry forgot to add.... ask him for th address of any car dealer nearby while talking ... just to make him feel lil uncomfortable...

here is the one dealer address you can ask :

AutoMax
4200 Tecumseh Road East, Windsor, ON, N8W 1K1

or better just print out this car dealer address and put similar VAN a

Lets see The Master Fido can make a DEAL :) :) :)

:) :)

Thanks for the tip BPF but Master Fido is 3 steps behind Master BPF :)

I had tried to negotiate in the beginning and they were not willing .. They got me the safety and inspection done which would have cost them some money.

I have agreed to the price and I am okay with it ..I will ask for discount but that would be it - if they say no , I will not negotiate any further ... I would still be happy. :)

Thanks for your advice/s help and support and this is for those who have responded both here and via pm ;)

I was waiting to be doubly sure before I added the update ..

OK here goes - I reached Windsor 11 am (cost me $110/-) and was at the house by 11 30 am ..... The van looked very clean . Did not test drive it .

Tried to negotiate but the 80 year old was 80ish :) ...Told me take it or leave it !!!

I have owned 7 cars in the past and all brought used ... so have a fair bit of experience about car sellers / owners ... I knew this guy had maintained his car well and was not selling off a head ache.... Tires were new (last year) , battery was 2 years old , car was recently safety and e tested , LX trim with everything working including AC and all controls.

Drove it back .........and it drove 350 kms beautifully , no noises , no vibrations, no pulling over , no brake noises ........... nothing ... very clean car .... I am glad I brought it.

Showed it to my mechanic yesterday who even w/o hoisting it or opening the hood said it is an extremely well maintained car ...Upon hoisting and checking under hood , he was further surprised and mentioned that it appeared the car did not come out of the garage !!! Nothing needed to be done !!!

I am very glad I brought it .... I think a car or any thing can have a very long life if maintained correctly.

Thanks for all your support and advice !!

Lesson learnt during his exercise ... Always buy safety and e tested OR get it checked by garage ...If the owner is not willing for either of these , there is most likely some issue.
