I am not sure how many people know or have used interac money transfer from one bank account to another (either ours or other people). I used this for the first time recently ( though I do online banking for long) and thought will share this with others who have not used it at all ( May come in handy when we are unable to reach the bank)

The process was extremely simple and if you search the net there are tons of guidance from respective banks on the process and the transfer fee ranges from $1 to $1.5 or free in some cases depending upon your bank account.

I had to transfer funds urgently between 2 of my accounts and followed the instruction to go online , select the $ value, provided my email address as recipient and created the security question. Then used the email to initiate a deposit into my other account. Instant transfer , Bingo ! It came very handy for me since both my banks are not available for late business hours to go in person and do the transfer.


If there are other options that people are aware of , please do share your knowledge.

I do RBC to RBC online transfer without any transfer fee or email hassle. Just setup the receiver as a payee account.

Mine was between different banks and hence the charge. I read even that is waived for certain account types
