Hello Guys,

My parents are on PR status (they got their PR in 2013). They came here in 2013 and stayed with us for more than two years than they went back to India and stayed in India for almost one and half year.

Now they are coming back again next week here in Canada to stay with us.

Few questions:

is it any precaution have to take for immigration purpose? what to say and what to not?

I mean what to say when immigration officer ask that why they take too long to come back to Canada, etc..etc..

Is immigration officer will give really hard time to them to enter again in Canada?

Anyone in forum with first hand experience or any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Regards

Your Parents have nothing to worry or fear.

Ask them to exit the plane and follow the crowd that is headed towards Immigration and Customs counters.

There will be a long line up, six or 10 wide and moving VERY FAST. (Now a days)

It will ask them if you are a Canadian or a PR, the others are TOURISTS. The line branches off here.

It will take them towards a wall with 20 odd machines and people fidgeting and don't know what to do. That includes all of the Canadians and the PR's too.

Your Parents will need to fill out this form on the plane before landing. I picked it up from the previous poster. Ask your Parents to fill out such forms and fill out EXACT Details from their own flights. You can print out these and practice. That is a must.

These machines by the wall will ask for this form and their Passport. They got to know how to place them correctly into the machine. When they do it, it will give them their Passport back and the form back and it will have their approval printed on it. Carry the same with them to the Baggage CAROUSEL. Get a cart and wait for their baggage to arrive on the belt.

Load it up onto the cart. (Currently the Carts are FREE.) and they can head towards the EXIT.

Load it up and head towards the exit and hand over the form that they filled out to the Officer at the EXIT Gate. He will take a look at it and say O.K. you can go now.

Go out to the meeting place or ask them to look out for you at the gate after they EXIT. Give them a big hug and welcome them back.

That is it.

NO Immigration Officer, or the How do you do guys any more. And they don't give a SH*T who you are or what you are bringing. If they suspect, they will take you out through a SECONDARY Check. Then the FUN starts. That is where they will do the grilling. So, be truthful about what you bring into Canada and what you carry. NO CONTRABAND or funny stuff.!!

You now know.

Good luck to your Parents. They are always welcome. They have lived here for TWO Long Years. They have seniority. Nothing to worry. (Give them your current address and phone number etc.,)

FH.

Thanks a lot FH for valuable and vital information...

They are not good in English but I am pretty sure they will manage themselves very well.

I am going to inform them about new computer scanning system and hope they are going to manage well. I remembered on the Airport they are always assisting if you have any troubles/difficulties to scan passport, documents etc...

Thank you

regards
