Hi,
Where you people go for Car maintanace i ) Dealer or ii) Other place ?
Like I want to go for General maintenance i.e. Oil change, replce Air filter, Coolant and Trans Fluid..now question is where to go ...Delear are expensive and others no gurantee ?
Anybody has any experince ?
thx
i personally go to canadian tire or any other branded shop like Mr. tube for oil change, filter , tuning etc as they have warranty. but if there is an repair like brake pads, muffler etc, the best thing is to have it checked from canadian tire(most of the time, check is free) and then go to the desi mechanic and ask to do the same job as told by canadian tire. it has 2 benefits.
1. you know that the job being done is really required
2. desi mechanic are less than canadian tire in their charges
Though i could not find any good desi mechanics neither in toronto nor in windsor
all having their hands cleaned on your car

Hello,
At Canadian Tire they misplaced cap for steering fluid when I went for oil change.
I went to a Indian Mechanic first time about 4 months back.He tells u
what the problem is & charges resonably. His name Gurpreet Dhadda at Premium Auto Repairs. His number 416-747-6800.
Premium Auto Repair
21 Millwick Drive,
For Castrol oil change he charges $ 19.99
Emission 24.99(really cheap)
I find him Resonable.

Txn Fluid, Air filter, Coolant, bulb/lamp replacements : All can be done on your own. Do some googling in "how to".
It more depends on your comfort level.
I go to costco for oil change and tire related work.
Rest all, if major, I go to dealer., or on my own.
Dealer do give mental peace, but costs hell. But, as I said "comfort level", with dealer, i get free ride to/from, and, my work is done during office hours without me taking any extra time.
Costco: mainly for comfort. Drop my car, shop around, pickup my car and back to home. In future, I might do oil change on my own. yes, only trouble is that mess and recycling the old oil.
On my first oil change, CrappyTire didn't locked the engine oil cap properly. Yes, the engine oil cap was not closed properly. That was first and last time. never been to crappy-tire since then.
