You touched my nerve. Having been lived in BC and travelled through West Coast (Washington, Oregon, CA), mountains fascinate me more than any other natural phenomena and beauty. So, I can understand where you're coming from. However, nothing can match BC's beautiful mountains in the whole of Canada (or for that matter US).
There's one beautiful mountain range in Quebec named as 'The Laurentian Mountains'. I don't know about this place except for Google. Little far from Toronto, but I am sure the visit is worth the time and effort.
Please update this if you come across any more scenic mountain range.
Mt Tremblant was were my colleagues used to go to, for their ski trips.
Febpreet, how much would a train ride -Van to Banff- cost?
So far no luck. I'm being directed to Mount Tremblant, as it wouldn't give me an opportunity to drive in the mountain, I am not going to like it.
Pocono mountains and Smoky mountains could be the next choice for now.. but they are far...
Goshhh.. I've started missing Tahoe... that was reachable in three hours.
