It is rumored to be deliberate. The state govt has set up five teams of cops to investigate. Short circuit is just a lame reason they are giving that too within an hour of the fire, before the cops could figure out the reason. Someone smart thought that the fire could destroy Adarsh scam files and other papers related to number of other scams. CBI came out and said that they have all the copies. CM Chavan says that they have electronic copies of the Adarsh scam files. Not sure if they are destroyed in teh fire.

This is not the first time. The city corporation in Bangalore is in the middle of a Rs. 1,500 creore fake bill scam. Last year some files were destroyed due to fire thru "short circuit" in that particular room where the files were stored. That's how the system works. It wont change.

No need to apologise. I understand your sentiment.

It is a shame that what is supposed to be the safest place in a democracy - the power centre of a state where the leaders can congregate in time of emergency - can hardly be called safe. Whether it is an accident or a sabotage, there is no excuse for such sloppiness.

Imagine if same thing happened at Queens Park in Toronto.

Regarding Indian politician's life, it is suprising they have such a long life span. Except for politicians like Rajesh Pilot, Madhavrao Sindhia or Pramod Mahajan who met untimely death, a career in Indian politics does guarantee one a long life span.

doob marney wali baat hai !!

Babus and their babuas instead of set salary payment at end of month, should be paid on completion of quality work on the basis of hours they were working. Corruption alone is not evil, non-working govt. employees is big menace. The fire is an example of negligence and lack of quality work.

It wont happen. For every govt vacancy there are at least 1,000 fighting for that position. Govt jobs are secure, no stress, more money (read corruption), etc. How many govt staff are dismissed from service for the wrong doings? I dont know. Merely suspending for a few months wont do. They will come back and continue their dirty work. If few are dismissed from the service, others will wake up and work properly.

A lady doc working for the city in Bangalore vanished for three months without applying for leave etc. She was in Australia having a good time. She was only suspended. Must have come back by this time. Compare to govt of Canada, as I undersstand, if one is absent for 5 business days without applying for leave, its automatic dismissal.
