   ...There have been recent health advisories about buying personal items from dollar stores that are manufactured in China such as toothpastes. Dollar store items are generally of low quality. I wouldnt recommend you buy any food/cookies/snacks ... or toothpastes from there. Its good for other household things though.

   ...Not only in toronto, recently there are many cases I know from Brampton and Mississauga where desi apartments are specifically targeted and the most unfortunate part is that Police doesn't show any interest to nab the culprits, they are just making paperworks so that insurance claims can be made. Even property management doesn't show any concen to prevent these type of incidents.

If you decide to take up Indian citizenship after getting OCI card and meeting their requirement of having the card for 5 years and living a year in India, etc, you have to renounce your Canadian citizenship. So it is not possible to be citizens of both India and Canada at the same time.

What is to learn from this is that if a white guy had done this there would be not so much hullagulla over it (No I am not being a racist), The fact that just one indian guy becomes a mirror for the whole country, Just by the act of one guy they are out there maligning the BPO industry and the country. We all should for that matter realise that we just dont represent ourself in a global world, we represent our entire community everybody who is Indian.    Dosas: ...Hi All, Dosas at Embassy are indeed better, I am a fan of those dosas, and has been frequenting quite often with my family, Idlis there are not good as they r kept prepared , but dosas they give small 5 dosas for 2$, enough for 2 with very good coconut chutney,and sambhar, it is located @ Mcnicol-Finch , you have Embassy indian store too next to it so we normally combine of Buying Indian groceries with visit to Embassy for dosas

Driving: New immigrant renting car in Toronto

   ...I rented cars in US and Canada with my Indian driving license. You can buy LDW coverage from rental company itself. Rental companies usually accept Indian driving license. Its better to have a International driving permit or reciprocal license before you drive in Canada. After all, you never know whats hiding in fine print of those insurance documents.
