The site looks good. Some of the avatars are not working when I try to select them.
Also when you show a line saying "if this is your first visit then register.." please include a html link for the word register so users can quickly link to the reg. page instead of looking up in the navigation bar. The fonts in the top navigation bar could be smaller so that all links fit on one line and would look in sync with the rest of the font sizes.
Is the software such that it shows a Subject and a Description when you try to post? Usually there is just one field to put in your subject matter. If you can show just one line for title of the post, it would be more consistent with all the bulletin boards out there.
The main page is good but has too much text. I mean the links on the left about latest topics has too many topics listed.
Find Desi in Canada box should go on right side below your poll of the day.
Then your USeful links and finally news.
Do you really need people to search for something via Google?
Maybe you should give Search Forums kind of link instead so people can find information on your site. People can always go to Google on their own.
Nice site and nice concept.
I hope you are not offended by my 2 cents
echarcha,
Welcome to this site!
Thanks for your valuable input. Your all points are valid and I must implement them.
While I was developing it, my main focus was on other sections as I took the basic discussion module as it is, so natually I have not paid any serious attention on the charcha.
Since you already have excellent charcha site http://www.echarcha.com you are more experienced and have valuable insite.
Thanks for you comments again, I will try to implement one by one.

Over two years of running eCharcha.Com I learnt that you cannot implement everything at once. Take your time... make gradual changes other than the ones which are very essential.
Take your time and think over the changes. You dont want users to suddenly have to do something different and not what they were used to. So introduce change slowly but surely. Adding helpful changes like links, etc can be done right away.
All the best!
