Any ex-H1Bs (USA) in the CD forum ?
I came here after six years in USA in H-1B .
Would like to make friends with some ex-H1Bs
Pl e-mail at
I am still on H1B. in Windsor..
You feeling nostalgic coz there isn't no headache or waiting for GC anymore?
sure windsor_boy,
-No longer living a life on the edge, ready to pack and go back on 10 days notice
-No longer having to beg in front the Visa officer at the US consulate everytime you visit India.
-No longer feeling insecure after watching Lou Dobbs on CNN on how foreigners are taking away American jobs
- No longer visiting http://www.murthy.com" rel="nofollow">LINK to see the processing dates and visa bulletins
Sure it is a nostalgic feeling..
Wonder how long it will last (maybe 4 years- Till Cdn citizenship ??- Then think about TN visa instead of H-1B)
Yes, it's a great feeling to be able to finally LIVE Life.... we also came here for the same reasons but my wife still has her H1-B.
We have had the best year now that we are in Canada and we have done more than we didin our years in USA.
Good to know that..
Actually I am getting quite good offers from Canada off late.. I am interviewing with RIM, CNC global, etrade and Rogers but so far best they can do is like 80K in Toronto, Missisaga area and it just doesn't compare to what I get back in US.. I wonder how they can afford and why outsourcing isn't affecting Canadian market same as US market..
hi windsor_boy,
So how do you handle the things like daily commuting, taxation etc.
I had an offer from a company in Buffalo but it did not work out due to the above hassles
Thanks
I was in USA for 2.5 years.
I moved to Canada with H1B of USA.
I feel better in Canada in compare of USA.
I am working in Mississagua.
