Thanks for your sympathies, Jake. And thanks for forgiving my retarded mistake. Next time I'll contact you for help. Thanks once again. Well, gotta get back to the animation.
Hi Jake,
I had a look at your production "Haircut", I have to say, made very nicely, u have an eye for detail, as every frame was rich in detail.
Great, hope to see some more of your stuff soon.

Jake, I had chance to finally download it an see it today. Truly awesome, I must say, hard to find any flaws. I can only imagine how much work went into this. I've watched it a few times already and like it more and more each time.
Really looking forward to the next one.
Loved the music by Pralay as well, although I did feel the guitars to be a bit heavy for a kids' film. I checked out their site too and its pretty cool.

Are you there?
Thanks BL,
I wished more than once that I could dull the edge of the guitar in the piece. You did catch what I think of as the main flaw.
It was a last minute thing and there was no way to change it. The Pralay guys were nice enough to let me have the music at a really short notice(a cpl of days). Besides they had not even seen the piece and had composed the music independently before the film was complete. Infact it was actually composed as a demo of their work and unrelated to my film. Things like this happen often on an independently produced no/low budget film.
The next one will have more of a budget and will be different.
p.s: the funny thing is some people think the music and the piece fit perfectly. Each to his own. Its art, i guess...left to the audience to interpret.

I have a hard time believing that Pralay composed the piece without looking at the clip, they did a fantastic job in that case. If you think about timing, the music blends in perfectly and really does seem custom-made, especially in some scenes (for instance when the haircut is done and Tony is hiding behind the chair and thoughts fade in and out).
The electric guitars would however be a bit heavy for 6-8 yr oldswatching the clip (which I'm assuming would be the target audience). It also creates a rather serious atmosphere as opposed to a light-hearted one, you come away with a feeling of "Take that, you filthy punk!!" as opposed to a simple smile (I really do need to polish my critic-prose, but I think you get the idea)
But if I were Steve Jobs, you'd have a super job offer on your table today for sure. And I'd call up someone to give Pralay a contract.

Thanks again BL
I'm actually thinking of asking Pralay to redo the track without the guitar...depending on what my accountant tells me about the state of my tax return. I'll let you guys know.
