Hello Friends,
I am looking to travel to India in December. Can anyone suggest a good Travel Agent who will provide the best deal for India. We are a family of 4 (2 adult 2 kids). I have gone through most of the travel agencies listed in Canadian Desi and the fare they offer are all above average. If anyone can help, will be obliged.

Before speaking to a travel agent , do the following
Go to websites like, Expedia.ca, Kayak, cheaptickets etc and see what rates come up for the dates you want to travel. If you are flexible with dates, travel via the US etc , check that out in these websites.
Once you do that you shall have a feel of the prices etc. Then talk to any desi travel agent.
My experience is that after that you can negotiate better with the travel agent. Also while I was travellling to india a couple of months ago , I found that there was a sale on in Lufthansa and my travel agent then offered me a price lower than that on the website. I saved approx $ 500 on 3 tickets.
The more information you have, the better your chance of negotiating . Also if you are going to India, you would generally travel on BA, Lufthansa, Air France, Air India , Emirates, or Singapore Airlines , Italian or Austrian Airlines.
So in all you hve 8-10 airlines, go to each website and create an email alert which will mail you offers etc . It requires some work but in the process if you save $ 500-600 for 4 tickets, I think it is worth it.
However do not book from Expedia etc as their cancellation terms are very stringent, as are date changes.
CD's pl feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Rajiv
Thanks a lot friends for prompt reply. I will surely check with all the websites listed and see what best I can get. Also thanks for the referral.
Has anyone travelled Aeroflot.
I'm getting a good deal for that Airlines. Approx. $ 100-150 less on each ticket than other Airlines. Kindly suggest.
Is it possible to pay for the tickets in Indian Rupees in India and use the e-ticket issued to travel from Toronto to India ?
Just another line,
Be carefull before you book on priceline.com or travelocity.com.
You cannot change dates, cancelation charges are high.
Use these websites as a guide and then with that info go to a desi agent, ask him for further discount based on these rates.
Regards,
Rajiv
