You will have to upgrade your qualification here in Canada. I have helped a few go through the system by evaluating their experience and helping them in their tests. Please see the classifieds.

As regards finding a suitable job for which you are qualified, since it is a regulated and Unionized field, it is a different process that you have to follow after the upgrading of the Electrician's Certificate.

I would advice you to obtain some certificate from your employer for working on low pressure boilers 15-30 psi (Min) to upgrade here to a Boiler Engineer, if you can obtain the same there it will help you immensely. Couple of years will be sufficient. It could also be a workshop training on them. You will have immediate employment, lot sooner than any other in any field. Advancement is progressive with furthering of your qualifications.

All of the above are based upon your qualifying with suitable pass marks in the immigration selection criteria. Please go through that section first. If you score 67 or above, then get back to us.

Also try the above links. One is used prior to arrival and they are based there in India. The other After your arrival here in Canada.

You have worked on large Industrial installations and you should request that you be processed as per the 7242 Industrial Electricians. That will also permit you to work on other smaller installations, if there is a crunch.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

These code numbers are helpfull only to get points for immigration purpose.
After immigrating, getting job is different issue.
This code number has nothing to do with your real job search situation.
This is what I understood in my experience.
