Getting MBA/EMBA from Canadian/US Universities is very expensive. Many institutes within India has started distance MBA or equivalent courses and cost is very less and of course no hassles of TRANSCRIPTS.
Being said that does it make sense to do those MBA/equivalent courses? Will that have any benefit especially in IT. IT is one of the field where Canadian education is not a must.

Let me try to answer your question as best as I can.
There are many institutes in India whcih offer quality education at costs lwoers as compared to Indian/ US uiversities. But yes, such colleges are limited to the top 10 starting with IIMs/ XLRI/ MDI/ SPJAIN/ Jamnalal Bajaj.
Since you are more specifically concerned about distance learning, well none of them is worth it.
Whether it is IGNOU, Symbiosis or any other institute, the distance learning mode is not worth the time and or money. Myself being in the IT sector for past 5 years now, I have seen people getting these degrees buy distance learning only to realize that it ain't worth it.
Giv me a reason as to why when placements at IIMA and ISB this year have gone down to 57% and the future of even students from MDI and JBIMS look bleak, would someone giv weightage to a distance learning degree?
Havnig said that, if u r looking to learn something new by reading opn your own, that's the only sense of a distance learning program. Any other value addition is not to be counted.

You absolutely did answer the question and thank you for the same. But the answer seems to be more from the perspective of market in India. Now I have bachelor's degree from India and in IT it is considered as bachelors degree here in Canada/US. Will this hold same here if the PGDBA is done form India?
In terms of academic equivalence, MAYBE. In terms of the job market, NO.
