Hello dear all,
I am SAP certified SD / PM functional consultant with 3 yrs. exposure to SAP consulting, and 16 yrs. FMCG functional.
I have Canadian PR card valid till April 2013.
I am planning to come to Mississauga to search for a job. Since searching for job means roaming around, my personal choice is summer (April-Sept.). However, I am not sure if this is the best time to have positions vacant.
Can any one help me in understanding, which part of the year more positions are vacant in SAP / IT / Generally in job market ?
Thanks in anticipation.
Sunil

June-August is when most people take off for their summer vacation, so things slow down. It is also slow in December-January due to the "holiday" season.
SAP is a hot field. You can find employment any time. Just donot come during the Christmas season.
Generally, in Dec / Jan. they make hiring decisions. So I am sure that hirng will be done in Feb. March. So Feb. to April will be the best times.
It also depends on the economic factors. Right now, we are just coming out from a terrible recession.
All the best

I have done SAP SD course about 2 years ago in Toronto but cant seem to find a job. Any specific way/sites to look for one?
There are few major SAP hirer's in the GTA.
Do you have any real time experience in SD? If so, You are sure to land a job. Workopolis is where most of my SAP friends got a job (but they had atleast 6 months of real time experience). Also by this time you would have known that in Canada, you donot get a job in a day. The process is very long and it takes you atleast 1 month min..
Another way is to join TCS in India (where you can get hired during walk-in during the weekend. If you know any staff at TCS, then you can make a deal to get 50% of the employee refferal fee-which is the std. norm) and then ask them to depute you to companies in Waterloo, Mississauga Big 5 banks and the GTA where they are sending SAP consultants by the 100's. I hope I need not tell you how to join TCS. It is an open truth. Send me a PM , if you donot know this truth.
