Hi Chandresh,
Your reply was quite indepth and practical.
I have done mgmt and CFA after doing BE from India. For last 7 years i have been working in IT industry as Functional consultant in ERP. Last two years have been working on Oracle Financials. Now i am in Canada. I understand that job demand for Oracle financials is also less and i was thinking of getting into accounting job. ( Though never worked in accounting but was involved with accounting processes while implemention ERP for all accounting modules).
I thought i would start with some accounts job like Accounts payable or General ledger or reconciliation etc and based on that i would further do CGA or CPA. But after reading your feedback i think i should focus on ERP job only. I am basically looking for some jobs. I am here for last 7 days.
Any advice from you, Mr. Balaji, Manasvi would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.
If Ora Fin demand is less try and switch over to SAP which is v high in demand worldwide .IT being a new fiield still has less aupplies than Accounting people .
Manasvi.
Hi Manasvi
Thanks for your reply. SAP is definitely much in demand but it takes lots of effort and time to be good in any single ERP. You cannot just get trained in 2 months.
My question is to forum members and looking for their advice.
Is it OK to apply for two positions in the same company in defferent departments say IT and Accounts?
Recently i saw some openings in some IT firms requiring Oracle Apps resource for their consulting division and Accounts payable resource for their Accounts department?
If i have to do this, I will have to send two different CV's one focussing on Oracle and other on Accounts in the same company. That means that the CV i prepare focussing on Accounts will be bit manipulated as i have actually not worked in Accounts dept. Will that create a negative impression about my applications once they know i am the same guy applying for two different positions with different CV.

Dilip Sharma
I am interested in speaking to Oracle ERP professionals regarding job opportunities in the US and Canada.
Clients I work are always on the lookout for people with implementation experience coupled with Accounting/Finance backgrounds.
