i applies about 45 days ago. Should i be expecting it or does it take longer?

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
It really takes a long time!!!! We applied in March 2003,took the test on Sep.22 and finally took an oath on October 31,2003.
Not the test, i meant the Just the file number.
So it took about 7 months in your case for completion. Thats is actually quick. Where are you located?
Thanks

You should have gotten an acknowledge ment and file number within one month. If you have applied more than 45 days, I would suggest you to go on their website at http://www.cic.gc.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK and check your file status online. From there you would know when and where they sent you a letter. It may be possible that they have your address incorrect in their records and that could be the reason for you not receiving any letter. If that's the reason, you can correct your address online or call their call centre. However, it generally takes 10-12 months in the completion of whole process. I would say that \"ritvim\" has been very lucky to get it within 7 months.
