Hi,
My cousin would like to visit Toronto for around 2 weeks.
I have a few questions on how to best go about this:
1) Is it better for him to apply for a straight tourist visa without mentioning my relationship with him
or
is it better vice versa?
2) How much money does he need to show ?
Any other tips appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Depends upon from which place he is coming, and what is his status there..

He needs enough funds to get by for the duration of his stay. You can provide him with the back up.

Freddie.
I read the link that you posted. It only talks about a letter of invitation.
On further investigation, it would seem that VFS handles the indian applications and some TRV's requirements are localised.
See this link for what they need for applicants from India
http://www.vfs-canada.co.in/images/TRV%20Checklist.pdf
On page 2 of the link, for tourist visitor's they require from the sponsor
- Notice of Assessment (income tax documents - T4)
which I am not comfortable sharing (its personal - one doesn't want to share with relatives) ... is their anyway to handle this?
thanks
On the same website, there is TRV Checklist, which says if you are not comfortable in sharing financial info, you can send it directly to consulate.
