HI OP,
Couple of points from my perspective -
1. check the schools and their cost. Brit School in Khuberah costs (3 years ago) about 60K per child per year for the fees. factor in another 10 k for uniforms/incidentals etc. This was perhaps the best (American schools are/were crappy).
2. check out the medical limits on the insurance and make sure that hospitals like American/Welcare are covered. <<I lived in Abu Dhbai for a few years and didn't really use the local hospitals - went to American/Welcare in Dubai>>.
3. make sure of the parking situation. 210K dirhams should get you a pretty decent apartment/mid sized villa, but there may not be adequate parking. Khalidiya is where you should look for an apartment.
will post if something else comes to mind.

boss i have lived in dubai for 20 years .....
dubai is just a mirage .... it is not good as it seems ....
for me canada might be a mirage .... so dont say that canada is good or bad ....
but ... i see that qualified people with great jobs where company pays for everything.....feel UAE is better ... but remember there are strings attached ......
most if not all things here are based on artificial demamd ... remember .. thats why dubai shot up to top in 5 years time and fell back in one ....... situation here is not that good ..... canada might be equally bad ... but please .... the tax free money is not really tax free..... u will know only when u end up here .....
best of luck ... at the end one should be happy whereever ... india ... canada ...dubai ......

Thanks to all of you who responded. I guess I owe you an update. I declined the offer. My research indicated that it is extremely difficult to get school admission in Abu Dhabi and the schools that may have vacant spots charge significantly higher fees than the tuition allowance offered by the company.
I declined the offer unless they were willing to increase the base amount or the school fees allowance. There was no career related reason to move - my career is doing fine here. The only reason was family related (being closer to ageing parents). So I guess I can wait for some more time.
Cheers

You have taken right decision. If you are well settled and earning good in one country, don't try to be adventurous, unless and until of course you are really adventurous and take everything in your stride. It is not everybody's or should I say, it is not most of the people's cup of tea.
If you had relocated, You would have been happy seeing your bank balance increase but the price is too high to pay.

good decision. that is even true for India and particularly Mumbai. been trying at a few good schools in Mumbai - no luck. other schools where we have a remote chance charge over 3.00 lacs p.a. fees.
