As parents have their duty to bring us up in right way so, do we have some duties and responsibilities towards our parents. Today, we are educated, earning good salary, having wonder family i.e wife and children, prospering in our life, it is all because of them and their sacrifices.

Please go ahead and bring your parents on visit visa and see whether they like this country and its culture. Apart from all this taxes, his career etc etc , it is thier decision as to whether they would like settle down here or in their own country. They should have freedom to do whatever makes them happy. You don't need forum decision nor discussion on this issue.,

Your father can always work voluntarily to keep himself busy and go from there. Here in canada, you have lots of things to keep yourself busy since you have to do everything by yourself. Many senior citizen especially whites are working voluntarily in school, Govt organisations, charitable institutions, caring for seniors and children etc.

Probably work as a medical technician...I remember some foreign medical graduates at the health center doing that.

thanks for your honest inputs....
but the whole idea behind me asking in a FORUM is not to discuss if and whether he shud come here or not...All I asked was if anyone was aware of the procedures...

I know what he can do apart from non medical profession...I just wanted to know what chances and options will he have to practice medicine related work...

navich, I can give you a contact No. whereby one of my friend who is a physician came to canada and london, tried to settle down, ultimately he went back to sharjah and he is well known and runs a very good practice and is very very successful.

I am certain, doctor to doctor talk will help your father a lot. sorry, I was little bit out of topic earlier.

Since he is doctor, I don't need to tell and advice him anything with regards to the health.

But a word of caution. My dad (who is no more, died of heart attack when I was just 21) had his first heart attack immdly after his retirement at the age of 59. (six months after his retirement) because he was very busy working for 40 years and after his retirement at 58, he felt useless and restless sitting at home. So, I feel this is risky age for them.

That is why, I suggested to bring him for say 3-4 months first and let him decide after he stays here for few months, since first year is tough for new comers in canada.

Sensational news! If you do not know swimming, you are likely to drown. They just tagged it with immigrants.
