Fantastic! So let me get this straight- you say that you sat for an exam, and you now have credentials but prefer to not use them, cause you are afraid of a lawsuit?

Do you tell your prospective employers this too, that you wont be accepting responsibility at their office either- just draw, wont sign?

That would be nice- all benefits, no responsibility.

Yeah!
Work on a $13/ hr. salary and take all the responsibilities that comes with the BCIN . No way yarr!
Maybe you will. But i will not.

Sidenote : An architect (egypt) in our office said that he knows a PEO but who shifted to teaching since there was too much responsibility involved in the PEO (this is for structural Engineering). Again this is what he told me and this is just an example of one sand in the seashore.

In my opinion it is worth doing it if you have the time. They also have a jobsite of their own to which only the oacett members get access to and the jobs posted there all require oacett certification for the most part. Just recently in a company an ex colleage of mine works for............they narrowed it down to two canditates equally good but the one with cet title landed the job..........could very well have been luck but why loose out on an oppurtunity when it is within grasp.

Whether your job requires a designation or not does not matter but atleast you can write that besides your name and believe me it helps in throwing some weight around in important issues concerning designing and implementation when the company is changing a few things around.

yes makki what azazf write is true. Get any damn certificate of Canada, that will improve your chance of getting an offer from Canadian company....TK it is too bad you end up getting $8.5 / hr because of all the extra work you put in. Presently I am salaried too but they are paying me for all the overtime hours.... my company is a manufacturing unit and unionized too therefore they abide by all the laws, my guess. Who wont love free labor!!!!
