Well I am an IT consultant have been in this field for 8 years now, I have worked for a few noteworthy companies including Microsoft.
There are several individuals who have come to Canada and would like to change their careers from something into IT due to the job market here. I have the IT knowledge and would to help these individuals with their pursuit. I also intend to hold sessions for hot IT topics like .Net, BizTalk that would help some of you.
I am not sure on how to go about it, I do not intend to charge any fees for these sessions. I would like to open a non-profit organization wherein people could come in and advance their skillsets. I am quite sure that this is not possible immediately as I am not sure if the government would fund for these things at all. But for the time being if everyone here at canadian desi would like to pitch in with different things, like venue, chairs etc, I can get the laptop and the material that needs to be presented. I am not sure if there is an organization that would like to sponsor such an event. I am sure my company wouldnt . Do let me know your feedback on whether this is viable.
